Professional Development

Child Care Resources of Rockland offers a variety of services and professional development and training opportunities.  Our workshops, seminars, annual conference and courses are designed to meet the needs of child care professionals working with young children in early childhood programs: family child care, group family child care, child care centers, school age programs and nursery schools.

  • Our professional development opportunities address the 9 NYS Office of Children & Family Services topic areas.  We offer 2 hour workshops on specific topics; seminar series (2-5 sessions) that explore topics in more depth; Child Development Associate (CDA) courses and on-site staff development services.  We also sponsor an all day (5 training hours) annual Early Childhood and School Age Care Conference in partnership with the Early Childhood Program at Rockland Community College.

  • Technical assistance is available to assist programs in room arrangements, material selection, establishing new programs or expanding existing programs and a variety of other topics.

  • Professional development planning and early childhood career counseling are also available.

  • The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) provides family and group family child care providers, as well as legally exempt providers, with partial reimbursement for healthy meals and snacks they serve children in their care as well as valuable information on nutrition, developing healthy eating habits in young children, assistance in meal planning and health and nutrition training.
