Child Care Considerations - Relocation
If you are relocating to another state or happen to be moving to another city within your state, many issues come up in locating child care. Some ideas and considerations include:
-
Start your child care search ahead of time. If possible, start as soon as you know that you will be relocating. Child Care Resources of Rockland may be able to make child care referrals for your new city or connect you with another child care resource and referral agency.
-
Get your referrals by fax or over the phone and call to make appointments right away. Plan to visit some options when you may be making a trip to the new city either on business or while you check out housing.
-
Talk to everyone you may know in the new area to find out any information on locating child care options.
-
Talk to your real estate broker about groups for newcomers in town which could give you some additional child care ideas.
-
Contact the National Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies (NACCRRA). They can help you find a referral agency in your area.
